Horror From The Deep Quest Guide

The lighthouse protecting Kandarins North Western coastline has mysteriously stopped operating, and contact with the lighthouse keeper Jossik has been lost.

The Council would greatly appreciate it if somebody could discover for them what has happened to this most vital landscape feature.

Start point:

The Lighthouse North of the Barbarian Outpost

To start:

Speak to Larrissa

Quest difficulty/length:

Experienced/Short

Minimum requirements:

• Level 35 agility
• Be able to defeat a tough level 100 monster
• Level 13 and higher magic is an advantage

2 Planks
60 Steel Nails
Hammer
Tinderbox
Swamp Tar
1 Molten Glass
1 Arrow (you will not get back so use something cheap)
1 Sword (you will not get back so use something cheap)
Weapon
Armor
runes for mage fighting (air, fire, earth & water + mind/chaos/death or blood)
Bow and Arrows for ranging

1. Go North of Barbarian Agility Course and jump across the rocks to the lighthouse.
   
   Step is Complete.

2. Start by talking to Larrissa she asks you to fix the bridge (to the east) and get the spare key from her cousin (in Barbarian Agility Course).
   
   Step is Complete.
   ( Done)
   
   
3. To fix the bridge go to the east till you see the broken bridge use a plank on the west side then jump across and use it again on the east side. Go back and tell her its fixed.
   
   Step is Complete.

4. Go back across the rocks, go into the barbarian agility course and talk to Gunnjorn, he gives you the key.
   
   Step is Complete.

5. Go back across the rocks again. Talk to Larrissa. She says to go inside with her.
   
   Step is Complete.
   ( Done)
   
   
6. Talk to her again inside. Go upstairs and search the book shelf, take all 3 books and read them.
   
   Step is Complete.

7. Go upstairs. Use the molten glass, swamp tar and tinderbox with the lighting mechanism. It starts working. Go back down both stairs talk to Larrissa again.
   
   Step is Complete.

8. Go to the basement. Study the thing on the wall. Use air rune, water rune, fire rune, earth rune, arrow and sword. with the door (You will not get them back, it only takes one of each type of runes).
   
   Step is Complete.

9. Enter the room and go down the ladder.
   
   Step is Complete.
   ( Done)
   
   
10. Talk to Jossick. The monster will attack you. (This one is easy)
    
    Step is Complete.

11. After you kill it...its mother will attack you (This one is tricky)...when you read the books it mentioned colors and elements...as the mother changes color you have to change what you are attacking with:

    • orange/yellow = melee
    • green = range
    • Red/Purple color = fire attack
    • blue color = water attack
    • white/gray = Air attack
    • tan/brown = earth attack

    NOTE: If you use a protect prayer she will attack with the opposite of what you are protecting from.

12. Once you kill it the quest is complete. Go upstairs and talk to Jossick and he will help you open the chest.

You also get a Rusty Casket. Once you finish the quest, go up to the second floor (where you go the three books). Talk to Jossik. He will ask you to read the chest, choose the name of the god you want the prayer book for. He will ask you to read it again. This time you will get the prayer book for the god you choose.

The prayer book is incomplete... You get the pages to complete the prayer book from Treasure Trails...

The area where the mother was fought can be used to train after the quest is complete.
