Cooking
A high cooking level allows your character to cook better foods that heal more hit points. To raise your cooking level, you need to cook. Not all foods will cook nicely at first; some will burn. As your level rises, less food will burn. There are a variety of different kinds of food that you can cook, everything from meat and bread to chocolate cake and anchovy pizza. Members Runescape has extra food and drinks that can be made. Their recipes are in the Gainne Cook Book and Gnome Cocktail Guide. You can get the books at the Grand Tree inside the tree Gnome Stronghold. Members can also brew their own Cider and Ales.
To cook, click on the food, and then the heat source. There are a few different heat sources, the main ones are ranges and fires. You can also cook on some fireplaces. For lower level cooks, more food will cook successfully on a range than a fire. (NOTE: cakes, pies, pizzas, sweetcorn, and baked potatoes can only be cooked on a range.) Once you use the food with the heat source, you will see a screen showing the items in your inventory that can be cooked. Click or right click on the item you wish to cook. A right click will give you options to cook 1, 5, X, or All of that kind of item.
Some foods require a number of items to make. For example, an apple pie takes a pie dish, flour, water, and apples. For these types of food, gather all of the items, put them together, and then cook. The Cooking How To page gives directions for these foods.

* * Exp amount shown is for adding the extras to the cooked plain food. It does not include exp from cooking the plain food.
* * * You must complete the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio Quest to cook this fish properly.
* * * * Nettles can be found on the southern side of the jail near Draynor Village and north east of Canifis, near the Slayer Master. You must wear gloves or gauntlets when you pick them or you will be stung and loose a few hitpoints. For the cups, you can buy or steal cups of tea in Varrock just south of the eastern entrance (level 5 Thieving required).
* * * * * You must complete the Recipe For Disaster Quest to make these.
