Runescape - The Lost Tribe Quest Guide

The Lost Tribe Quest Guide

Thanks go to Leroy for writing this quest guide

Sigmund is the advisor to the Duke of Lumbridge, but the duke does not always take his advice. When part of the cellar wall collapses the duke insists the damage was caused by an earthquake, but Sigmund is worried about a monster attack.

If you investigate this mystery it will lead you through treacherous caves to uncover something lost by the gods for thousands of years.

Start point:
Lumbridge Castle
To start:
Speak to Sigmund
Quest difficulty/length:
Intermediate/Medium
Minimum requirements:
Members only:
Yes
Items needed:
Bring all with you from the start, not much space is needed
Pickaxe
Light source (Lamp at least, Lantern recommended)
Tinderbox (only if you don't have lantern)
Teleport runes (1 Falador, 1 Varrock, 3 Lumbridge) (time saver)
Food (not really needed with Lantern)

  1. Talk with Sigmund (inside the same room and the Duke), he'll tell you about the cellar. Then, he'll request that you go and talk with the people around town. Talk with either the Cook, Hans, Bob, or the local Priest to find the info. They'll tell you their story, which you must return to the Duke and tell him.
    ( Done)

  2. He'll want you to go and investigate the cellar. So head to the first floor and down the kitchen's trap door to the cellar. Walk to the south eastern-most room. You'll notice there is a rock/rubble in the wall. Use your pick on it and go through the hole. On the mini-map should be a red dot, go and pick it up. You should now have the Brooch. Return to the Duke and show him.
    ( Done)

  3. The Duke wishes you to learn more, so teleport to Varrock and head north to the library in the Castle. When you enter, check the northern bookshelf on the western-most wall. When you're done reading the book, teleport to Falador and head north to talk with the Goblins. Speak with Generals Bentnose and Wartface. After a long (and not so agree-ative) discussion, ask to learn both goblin greetings. They will perform, and you will now be able to use 'Goblin Dance' and 'Goblin Bow'.
    ( Done)

  4. Teleport to Lumbridge, go to the cellar, and back through the hole. You'll need to go through the cave in a certain way or you wont reach the end without a few bruises. (See map below.)
    ( Done)

    Cave Map

  5. Walk up to Mistag and use the 'Goblin Bow' from earlier; speak with him. When you are done, teleport to Lumby and talk with the Duke and Sigmund. (NOTE: Some people have had luck talking to Mistag again to be led through the cave instead of teleporting.) They will say they must go to war since they accuse the Goblins of stealing the silverware. Right click on Sigmund and pick-pocket him to find a key. Go to the room just south and open the northern chest to find a HAM (Humans Against Monsters) suit.
    ( Done)

  6. Go out of the castle and halfway to Draynor, you'll find the HAM trap door. Pick it (which takes a while) and go down. Just to the south should be a crate. Search it and find the missing silverware. Teleport (or walk, since it's not too far) back to Lumbridge and speak with the Duke. He sends Sigmund away for trying to have a war start, and gives you a document to form an alliance with the Goblins.
    ( Done)

  7. Go back down to the cellar and through the hole. You'll see a new Goblin (Kazgar) there that you can speak to and send you through the caves. Talk with Mistag (he likes to move, so look at your mini-map to find him). There will be a short cut scene. You completed the quest.

Reward:
1 Quest Point
3000 Mining Exp
Ring of Life
Ability to use the Dorgeshun mines
Goblin Bow Emote
Goblin Dance Emote

You can mine in the mines for silver and iron, then you can sell them back to Mistag. Also, you can kill the miners and guards in the area. They drop mining helmets, bone clubs, and bone spears.
