Mort Myre's south border has been breached, and a path towards a strange town called 'Mort'ton' has been found.
Strangers return from such visits with tales of the 'Afflicted' and shadowy creatures who jealously guard their tomb treasure.
Start point:
The town of Mort'ton to the South east of Filliman Tarlocks camp (south of Mort Myre, past a long road)
To start:
Explore the town and uncover it's secrets
Quest difficulty/length:
Intermediate/Short
Minimum requirements:
Level 15 Herblore
Level 20 Crafting
Must be able to kill a level 40 foe
Members only:
Yes
Items needed:
This quest requires a team of people: The higher their crafting levels the smaller that team can be.
When you get into Mortton, head south-east from the bridge. You will see an area with houses; go into the the south-western most house with smashed glass in it (it will be torn down). There is a shelf in the north-west end of the house, search it for a diary.
Step is Complete.
( Done)
Read the diary you have just obtained. Now search the table in there to get 2 tarromins and 1 rogue's purse. Now go to the eastern building with the sink and fill your vial; then use a tarromin with the vial. Go outside and chop 3 trees for the logs. Use a tinderbox on two and collect the ashes. Use the ashes on the vial to create a a new potion.
Step is Complete.
( Done)
Go to the general store and use one dose of the potion on the person, he will become human for a short time. He will then want you to go and kill 5 shadows so that he can study them. Go out and kill 5 shadows and collect the "loar remains". Go back to the general store and use a dose on the keeper, he will take 2 remains. While your able to use the stores, buy an olive oil from the general store, and 5 swamp paste, 5 stones, 5 bricks, and 5 planks from the building store. You'll need these later.
Step is Complete.
( Done)
Now go to the building with the sink and use a dose on him. He will become normal and tell you a few things. Use another dose on him and he will take 2 more remains. He will then explain that you have to repair the temple to make a permanent solution. Now go north-east and cross a bridge. Once your there, start repairing the temple. (If there are enough people there, make sure that there are some people fighting the shadows. They will destroy the temple if there are too many for a long time.)
Step is Complete.
( Done)
The Temple: There are 3%'s-one for the structure, one for materials, and one for "Sactity". The Materials has to be above 0% or else it can't be repaired. When the Building is 100% complete, you can start to gain Sactity. When you get 10%, you can use the olive oil on the flaming portion in the center. (Note: If it becomes 20%, you can use the 207 potion on it to make it a permanent potion for the NPC's.)
Step is Complete.
( Done)
Now go to the southern end of the city to the "Altars" for cremation. Use the upgraded olive oil, Sacred oil, on a set of logs to get a "Pyre Logs". Then use the logs on the altar; then use the remains. Finally light it all to release the spirit. There will be a present for you on the side table.
Step is Complete.
( Done)
Now go to the man with the sink and talk to him. He will end the quest.
You can use the permanent 207 potion on the NPC's there, elimanating the use of the 207 in future uses. If you do, then they will give you some stuff (All I got was 217 and 207 gp from them).
If there are a lot of people at the temple, then you don't need to purchase the 5 bricks. They are only used to construct it, not to keep it up from attacks.
If you cremate (sp?) a few of the remains in the same fashion, you can obtain a bronze key to the doors to the north of the town. There will be lvl 60's of the shadows. If you kill them, collect the remains, and cremate them, you have a chance for a steel key. It goes on for a few times, increasing the lvl be 20 each time. (Some people might be worried about fighting a lvl 100, but their def is so weak, that I killed one in about 7-8 hits with my drag b-axe.) The highest monster should be 120 or 140, but I'm not too sure.
#3 is (I think) the only way to collect the fine clothes for the mage armour... but that's if you dont buy it for outrageous prices. I think some people are selling for 3-6mil per set.
