Tree Gnome Village Quest Guide

The tree gnomes are in trouble. General Khazard's forces are hunting them to extinction. Find you way through the hedge maze to the gnomes secret treetop village. Then help the gnomes fight Khazard and retrieve the orbs of protection.

1. Go toward the Tree Gnome Village (south west of Ardougne and west of the Fight Arena). The Village is surrounded by a maze, go to the north west corner of the maze.
   
   Step is Complete.

2. Work your way through the maze. The enemies in the maze are:

   • Rat (level 1)
   • Spider (level 1)
   • Goblin (level 2 and 5)
   • Giant rat (level 3)
   • Bear (level 19)
   • Orc (level 20)
   • Giant (level 28)
   • Ogre (level 48)
   • Wolf (level 64)

3. Once you get to the end of the maze, you will see Loose Railings, squeeze through them.

4. Go to the east side of the village. Talk to King Bolren. Say "Can I help at all?" and then "I would be glad to help.".

5. Elkoy will lead you out of the maze. Head north east from the maze entrance.

6. Look for Commander Montai (green pants, red vest and hat). Talk to him, agree to get some wood. Talk to him again to give him the wood. Talk to Commander Montai again (will be the third time), tell him "I will try my best".

7. Go north onto the battlefield, cross the bridge. There will be lots of Khazard Troopers (level 19) around this area.

8. Go to the south west corner of the Khazard side. Talk to the Gnome, he will not make much sense. Saying things like "More then me, less then our feet" and "More then we, and Khazard's men are beat.".

9. Go north, near the north western most building there will be a Gnome. Talk to him, he will tell you, "The height coordinate is 4".

10. Go east to the next building. Go inside and talk to the Gnome in the cell. He will tell you "The Y coordinate is 5!".
    
    Step is Complete.

11. Head back to the Gnome side of the battlefield (across the bridge). Go western, near the river you will see a Ballista.
    
    Step is Complete.

12. Fire the Ballista. Set the height to 4. Set the X coordinate to 3. Set the Y coordinate to 5. (NOTE: You may not need to set all of the coordinates, depending on if you talk to all of the Gnomes.)

13. Head north across the battlefield to the Khazard side. Go to the north western most building. Along the one of the walls you will see a Crumbled Wall, climb over it. You will be attacked by the Khazard Commander (level 48).

14. After you defeat the Khazard Commander, go into the room to the west. Climb up the ladder.

15. Once up the ladder, you may be attacked by another Khazard Commander (level 48), if so defeat him. Search the chest in the north east corner of the area. You will find the Orb of Protection. Go back down the ladder and leave the building, you can use the door south of the ladder this time.

16. Leave the battlefield. Go to the north west corner of the Gnome Maze. Talk to Elkoy. Ask him to show you the way to the village.

17. Go east through the village, talk to King Bolren. Say "I will find the warlord and bring back the orbs.". You will be taken to the north west corner of the Gnome Maze.

18. Travel north to the Khazard side of the battlefield. Go towards the north western most building (where the Khazard Commander was). From this building go north west (you can follow the wall). There will be Wolves (level 64) in the area.

19. After you pass the Wolves, turn north. You will see Khazard Troopers (level 19) and the Khazard Warlord (level 112).

20. Heal and use potions if needed. Talk to the Khazard Warlord. After you defeat him you get the Orbs of Protection.

21. Head back, across the battlefield, to the north west entrance of the Gnome Maze, talk to Elkoy. Ask him to take you to the village.

22. Go east through the village, talk to King Bolren. You will be rewarded.

Gnome Amulet of Protection
   (gives Defence Bonus of +13 to Stab, Slash, and Crush)
Ability to teleport using the Spirit Trees
   (Spirit Tree locations are the The Tree Gnome Village, Khazard Battlefield, north east of Varrock, and the Gnome Stronghold.)
(NOTE: If you loose the Gnome Amulet of Protection, talk to Bolren he will give you another one.)
