Fishing
Fishing is used to catch fish that can be cooked and eaten to regain your hit points. To raise this skill level, you need to catch fish. Each time you catch a fish you will gain experience points. Fishing can also help boost your cooking skill if you cook your own fish. The fishing tools are a net, fishing rod with bait, fly fishing rod with feathers, lobster pot, harpoon, and (in Members Runescape) big fishing net. These tools can be purchased at fishing stores or sometimes at a general store. Bait can be purchased or some monsters drop it. Feathers can be purchased or chickens sometimes drop them after a battle. Each tool requires a different level to use. A beginner fisherman uses a net.
To fish, right click on the fishing spot and then click on the tool you want to use. Bait and feathers will be used automatically. A message will appear when a fish is caught. You will continue fishing until your inventory is full. Not all fishing tools can be used at all fishing spots, you have to use the right tool at the right spot to catch anything. Fish must be cooked before they can be eaten; different fish require different levels of cooking. (see Cooking)
In Members Runescape you can also catch items with the big fishing net. Boots, gloves, and seaweed are worth 1 exp each to catch. Caskets and oysters are worth 10 exp each to catch.
