Gertrude's Cat Quest Guide

Gertrude's cat has been missing for some time now - for her piece of mind her prized pet must be rescued.

Handling cats isn't an easy business. They get hungry and need plenty of attention but if you're the pet type, then this is the quest for you!

Start point:

Gertrude's House, just opposite Juliet's place on the outskirts of Varrock

1 raw Sardine

Bucket of Milk

1. Head to Gurtrude's house, on the south side of the road west of Varrocks western entrance. Talk to Gertrude, offer to help find her cat. Leave the house and go just south of it, you will see Doogle Leaves, take 1.
   
   Step is Complete.

2. Go east to the Varrock market. Talk to Shilop or Wilough (north of the General Store). He will tell you that Fluffs followed him to the secret play area. Ask him what will make him tell you, pay him the 100gp. He will tell you that they play at the abandoned lumber mill.

3. Go north through Varrock following the road and then east when the road branches. Just east of the Jolly Boar Inn you will see the Lumber Mill. Go around to the south side of the fence. Look for the Broken Fence, climb over it to get in.
   
   Step is Complete.

4. Towards the center of the area there is a ladder, go up it. You will see a Gertrudes Cat.
   
   Step is Complete.

5. Try to pick up the cat. It will scratch you, taking a few hit points (nothing major, just 2 or 3). Use the milk with the cat.
   
   Step is Complete.

6. Use the Doogle Leaves with the sardine to make a Seasoned Sardine. Use the Seasoned Sardine with the cat.
   
   Step is Complete.

7. Try to pick up the cat again. It will scratch you again, taking a few hit points (nothing major, just 2 or 3).
   
   Step is Complete.

8. Try to pick up the cat again. You will get a message saying that you can hear kittens mewing.
   
   Step is Complete.

9. Go down the ladder. Start searching the crates and barrels the ladder until you find a kitten.
   
   Step is Complete.

10. Go back up the ladder. Use the kitten with Gertrudes Cat. Leave the Lumber Mill.

11. Go back to Gertrude's House. Talk to Gertrude, you will be rewarded.
