Runescape - Royal Trouble Quest Guide

Royal Trouble Quest Guide

Thanks go to Gambit1012002 for writing this quest guide

It's tough being the regent of a small island kingdom, especially when the king has declared war while you were off adventuring.

Something is up in Miscellania and Etceteria, and you'd better find out what before both kingdoms end up in royal trouble!

Start point:
Miscellania
To start:
Speak to Advisor Ghrim in the Miscellanian palace.
Quest difficulty/length:
Experienced/Medium - Long
Minimum requirements:
  • Quests:
  • Levels:
    • Level 40 Agility
    • Level 40 Slayer
  • Also useful:
    • To be able to defeat a level 150 monster
Members only:
Yes
Items needed:
Anti Poison potion (s)
Armor/Weapons to kill a lvl 149
Food
Pickaxe or 5 coal (possible to get durring quest)
Energy Potions would be helpful (lots of running around)

  1. Talk to Advisor Ghrim to find out he's started a war with Miscellania. He'll explain that the queen's army invaded and demanded tithes (basically money/rescourses). He'll tell you to talk to Prince/Princess and citizens to find out more.
    ( Done)

  2. Walk over and talk to the Prince/Princess. There will be a cut scene in which they will suggest you get the king and queen to marry. Talk to King Vargas.
    ( Done)

  3. Leave the castle and talk to the citizens that help you gain favour. Gardener Gunnhild is just south of the castle walls entrance. The citizens will say that the soldiers demanded tithes and that they wouldn't give them anything since you're the only one they give items to. Talk to King Vargas.
    ( Done)

  4. Head over to Etceteria and talk to Queen Sigrid. She'll say that the king's army invaded and demanded items and that you should talk to her citizens to find out more. Go outside and talk to the gaurd, he'll tell you that when the citizens said no the soldiers stole their plates in the middle of the night. If you can not find the guard, talk to the citizens until one of them tells you about something that was stolen.
    ( Done)

  5. Go back and talk to the king. He'll tell you to talk to the advisor for help on what to do next and will also say the queen was spreading rumors among her own people. The advisor will tell you maybe travelers did it and that you should talk to the sailor down at the docks.
    ( Done)

  6. Go talk to the sailor. He'll tell you that no one has come to the island besides 5 Fremennik teens visiting relatives in the dungeons. Go talk to the king about this. He'll give you a letter to give to the gaurd. Go outside and south from the door to the courtyard. Talk the gaurd, he'll let you into the dungeon.
    ( Done)

  7. Go to the bar and talk to the dwarf there. He'll tell you about the tunnels and some beast in them. He'll also give you a brace for the crack in the wall to the north and tell you the lift to the tunnels may be broken since he fell on it on his way out last, and that there are supplies in the room to fix it.
    ( Done)

  8. Go north to the crack in the wall and use brace with it then go through. Go to the northern crate and take the manual off of it. Read the manual. Take a couple Beams and Pulley Beams from the crates. Now you need to fix the lift.
    • Use a Pulley Beam with the Scaffold.
    • Use a Beam with a Pulley Beam to make a Long Pulley Beam. Use a Beam with the Long Pulley Beam to make a Longer Pulley Beam. Use the Longer Pulley Beam with the Scaffold.
    • Use a Pulley Beam with the Scaffold.
    • Take a rope from the crate with the manual in top. Use the rope with the Scaffold.
    • Use a Beam with the Platform/Lift.
    • Take an Engine from the top of the crate. Use it with the Engine Platform.
    ( Done)

  9. Once thats done use rope with the scaffold. The use beam with the platform to fix it. Then add the engine the engine. The manual will say all compatible engines can hold a maximum of 5 coal. Mine 5 coal, there is coal in the room and you can get a pickaxe from the rock out side.
    ( Done)

  10. After you put 5 coal in the engine will automatically start. Grab a rope from the rope-in-a box and go up the lift. Take a plank from the ledge. Crawl through the tunnel.
    ( Done)

  11. Follow the tunnel north. Use the rope with the rock above the little water and swing across. Search the near-by fire you'll get a journal read it.
    ( Done)

  12. Keep going along the tunnel. Use the plank with the slippery rocks (on the rocks in the next part you can take 8-9 damage from slipping). Search the next fire and you'll find pages and add them to the journal. Continue along the tunnel.
    ( Done)

  13. Search the next fire and get more pages. Walk south avoiding the vents, they can do a little damage about 8-10. Search the fire again and get more pages.
    ( Done)

  14. Keep following the tunnel in the next part rocks can fall on you so run through and search yet another fire for more pages. Follow the tunnel a little more until you get to a crevice. Read the Burnt Diary and then go through the crevice. You'll get a little cut scene with the Fremennik teens. One of which will do a pretty bad rock impression.
    ( Done)

  15. They'll explain their plan to start a war then solve it to become adults. Also saying they were going to give back the items but a giant sea snake moved in and made a nest where they hid the items. They'll ask you to deal with the snake.
    ( Done)

  16. Follow the tunnel past Sea Snake Hatchlings (level 62) and Sea Snake Young (level 90) until you see another crevice. Drink your potions and turn protect from melee on if you need to and go through. The snake also has a ranged or magic attack but it doesn't use it if you fighting melee. Once killed it will drop big bones, heavy box, and some coins.
    ( Done)

  17. Go back to the crevice, at the beam of light someone will drop down a rope for you to climb up. Go talk to the queen. She'll thank you give you 20k and a formal apology to the king and tell you the gaurd will take the items from you. Go outside and talk to the gaurd.
    ( Done)

  18. Next, go the the king. He'll read the letter and thank you and recap your rewards. Quest complete.

Rewards:
1 Quest Point
5000 Hitpoints exp
5000 Agility exp
5000 Slayer exp
20k gold
More options for managing your kingdom (Farming and Hard wood)
an Empty Box (no you can't sneak around in it like solid snake, sorry)

Also thanks to update you can have them work one and a half areas. Ie: Max Hard Wood and half farming. Also it's alot easier to get your population to like you. I spent 15 minutes cutting hard wood and the guy said you've done enough. Also they get more a lot faster. I spent a week with them on herbs, nothing. I got 9 mahogany 3 swordfish and 4 tuna after about an hour.
