South of Al Kharid a new desert pass has opened up, leading to the dangers of the Kharid desert.
Don your desert garb and make sure your waterskin is full before heading off into the trackless dunes in search of desert adventure.
Start Point:
Shantay Pass south of Al-Kharid
To start:
Talk to Shantay or one of his assistants and anyone else you find there.

Items needed:
To start the quest head to the Shantay Pass located south of Al-Kharid. There is a guy there named Shantay, talk to him and buy what you need. (desert robes, waterskins, feathers, bronze bars and so forth) Now once you have all the items and gold go through the Shantay Pass. Once through talk to Irena to learn about her daughter who is missing.

Walk south until you come to the mining site and around to the west side you will see a Mercenary Captain. Watch him. You’ll see he has a key and that he has his men do the fighting. Talk to the Captain and say Hello, then insult him and end with you threatening to punch him.

The Captain will sick his guards on you but they will only pretend to fight you. Go back and talk to a guard asking about the captain. You learn that if someone was to challenge the captain one on one that none of the guards would interfere. You then make a bet with them that you’ll win.

Talk to the captain again and offer to do something for him. He will ask for the head of the bandit chief. Head to the nomad camp instead to the west and bit north of the bandit camp. Talk to the Bandit Leader and tell him what you are to do. You will be told he does not exist and you head back to the captain.

Talk to the captain and pick the insult option about the bandit fraud and then be challenged to a duel. You fight the captain with your bare hands. Collect your bet if any before entering the camp. **Note.. If you get caught and thrown in jail and lose your key you just talk to the captain and choose the bandit dialogue to start the fight to get the key again.

Once inside try to avoid the guards and talk to a male slave. Agree to help him and switch your desert robes for his slave robes. (If you get thrown in jail you can either use the jail key if you got one from when you search the desk or climb out window then up the rocks to start over by going through the gate and be sure to wear slave clothes.) If you got the clothes switched head over to the mercenary by the gate leading in to the mine. Talk to him and tell him you want to change mining spots. He will tell you it will cost you a pineapple.

You will now need to exit the camp and one way is to get caught and thrown in jail and climb out window or take off slave clothes and go out gate (I think). Once out head west to Tenti’s Camp and talk to Al Shabim. To get a pineapple you will need to bring him plans for a weapon. Agree and he will give you a chest key.

Go back to the mining camp and go in to the building where the jail is and climb up the ladder. Search desk to find the cell key so in future you get thrown in you can go out the cell door. Now use the chest key on the chest in the room there. You’ll get caught and you then ask if he likes boats to distract him. Then open chest and grab the plans and leave.

Go back to Tenti camp and show plans to the chief. He will grant you access to a tent with an anvil. This is where you need the bronze bars and feathers. You can fail so you could bring more. Show the plans to the guard outside the tent, enter and use the bronze bar with the anvil. Follow the plans. You will create some dart heads. Use the feathers on them to make darts. Show these to the chief and get your pineapple. After doing this you now have the ability to make darts.

Now head back to the mining camp and use pineapple on the mercenary at the mining door. Walk through and go through passage. You need to examine a barrel and pick it up. Now search the mining cart and ride in it. May take you a couple tries to get in. And you do take damage when you fail. When you ride to next part follow the middle tunnel to Ana. Discuss with her about the possibility of escape. Use the barrel on Ana. Head back to the cart and use barrel on it, and then jump in your self. Once back to the other area, search the barrels to find the one Ana is in. Once you find it you will pick it up. Go over to the lift and use the barrel with it. A guard will help you and ask a question and the answer is gregarious. Now go back through the tunnels to head back out into the open. Go over and operate the lift. Now use the barrel with the cart nearby.

Talk to the driver of the cart and say some jokes to get him laughing. Then tell him what you need him to do. He will ask for 100gp to do so with no questions asked. Once outside you will have Ana in a barrel, so head North to the Gate to use the barrel on Ana’s mother. Talk to her and get rewarded. **Note.. if you get caught by guards and sent to jail before you get her in the cart you will have to go get her in barrel all over again.
