Go northwest of the coal trucks (south of barbarian outpost) and speak to Almera. She will have you speak to her son who is trying to find treasure. Go west from her house and board the raft. You will go down the river and the raft will break. You will be on an island with a boy on the mainland. Talk to him and go through the steps. When you are done, right-click the rock and 'swim to' it. You will end up at the bottom of the river, a little hurt.

Just northwest of where you land is a house; talk to the man Hadley (might be in it, might not). When your done, go upstairs of the house and search for a book called "The book of baxtor"; read it. Go downstairs and speak to Hadley again.

Now head south to the Tree Gnome Village and make your way through the maze to the actual village. (You may also go southwest and use the tree spirits if you have completed Tree Gnome Village Quest and Grand Tree Quest.) Just outside the village, near Elkoy, is a dungeon to go down. You can tell by an "!" on the map.

With level 28 hobgoblins, head through the east path. There are Giant bats, Zombies, and a Zombie with an axe. Search the crates until you find a key. Once you have it, go back through the west path. You will have to go through more hobgoblins, until you reach the end where a room has a jail cell to the north. Use the key with the door and talk to Golrie. You will give him the key and you will obtain a pebble. Go out of the dungeon.

Now you must go back to where Hadley is, at the waterfall, and head to the east. You will find a tombstone on a path. (Do not take any armor or weapons for this part) Use the pebble on the tombstone and you will climb down to the grave. Head west (minor creatures, and one moss giant to the rear) to the chest and open it. Once you search it, you will obtain an amulet. Now go to the south and search the grave. You will obtain an urn with ashes.

Now head out of the grave and go to Almera's house. Use the raft behind the house to get to the island. Use the rope on the rock on the south island to swim there. Use the rope again on the rock to the south island, and then use the rope again on the tree to climb down. Make sure you have the amulet you got from the grave before you try to open the doors, otherwise you'll fall and get hurt quite a bit.

Once in, head to the north east. You'll have to go past shadow spiders (who drain stats, prayer I believe) and mage skeletons to find a key in a crate. Once you have it, go the west way and go through the door. There are level 92 fire giants (sometimes with people fighting them), so run from here to the north end and open the door (you may have to use the key on it).

Through the next door, you will find 3 pillars on east and 3 on west, 2 statues to the north, and an altar right above you. Use one of each rune on each of the pillars until all 6 of each are used. Once this is done, use the amulet you obtained from the grave on the statue on the left side. You will lose the amulet and the floor will raise so you can examine the altar. Use the ashes on the altar and the quest is complete.
