Looking for your thoughts on the changes between RS1 and RS2 from other members that have tried the beta and maybe questions from some of the f2p players that haven't got to try it yet. I haven't spent much time in beta since if I'm going to play I want to be able to keep the experience I get. I didn't like the first round of beta with none of the items you had in RS1. It was difficult to adjust to not having any of the armor or weapons you are used to using. Since they copied the items over I decided to try some of the different things.

Theiving I think is more difficult. It's harder to run away to start theiving again. So I think theiving in the paladin room will be a lot more difficult.

Fighting will take some getting used to. My combat level goes up 2 points. I know my max hit went up at least 1 point to 22. Seemed like I was taking more damage than in RS1. I went to kill some dragons to get the leather and paralyze is gone so I tried protect from melee and was taking less damage but my prayer points dropped quickly. Will take some time to determine the best fighting style/weapon/armor combinations for fighting different creatures.

Some other things I liked are: Right click on the bank window for quick banking (no dialog boxes) I think that works for shops also. Bank notes and the type in the amount to withdraw are a great idea also. When you click on the map to walk (or run) it puts a flag on the map so you can see where you are headed. When smithing you no longer have several dialog screens to make something it pops up a window showing everthing (probably the same with crafting...see pic of dragon leather for example). Spell casting looks better.

Things I'm not sure about yet: Being able to do things while fighting. I think its good that you can but at the same time when you do other things it stops you from fighting back adn it could be dangerous with lag (I usually have a lot of lag and have to click repeatedly to get it to do something). Don't know how fatigue works or if its in the beta game yet. I can't seem to find anything about it just the tired meter for when running.

Some things I didn't like: It's harder to flee from a fight if you are theiving. Some of the places are farther to walk to (Spinning wheel in Falador).

Both versions have things that I like better about one then the other. In RS2 I really like being able to run and having the flag to mark where you are going. I'm not sure which battle system I like better, I have not really given it much of a chance one RS2 yet. But I did go up 2 combat levels. The bank notes are great, I think so far anyway that will probably be my favorite addition.

I don't care for all of the fences with no reason in RS2. Most of them are just places randomly near roads. They did get rid of a good many of them, but the ones that are still there are just something else to get hung up on or to walk around.

A few couple of things I would like to see added to Runescape 2 are, being able to change 'pages' (inventory, friends list, prayer, etc...) by hovering over them, having to click. It seems like switching between pages while fighting could be clumsy.

It would be nice to be able to select just one kind of message to view, like in RS1. If you are in a crowded area trying to read pm's can be hard. Plus it would be nice to be able to review quest info. As it is now, or was last time I logged in anyway, quest talk is in little pop up kinda windows and there is no way to read through them again later on.

yea the chat stuff should be worked on, there should be filters and also some sort of a "journal" to store quest stuff in.

The hovering over the 'pages' to change menus is a good idea, but i would like hotkeys even better.

Yes, the fences are annoying....they should delete them all.

as for the fighting, there are a lot of new settings to get used to....but instead of me being an explorative nerd, ima just wait till some loser fights every monster a couple thousand times and then ill wait for him to post some info on Tip.it or RSC on the best method to kill any particular monster.......and until that loser figures out how to do that...ill be mining

I also don't like that you have to remove the Amulet of Glory (Dragonstone Amulet) to teleport. But I do like that it tells you how many teleports you have left before it needs recharged.

Found another good feature in rs2 today. When you cut wood, it keeps cutting until the tree falls, no more click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click...click once and it could fill up you inventory if the tree stays up.....
