I'm doin' dragonslayer, any tips/hints/warnings?

I've got all the stuff to do the Dragon Slayer Quest, and I'll be doing it as soon as I buy and can use runite armor/weapons. Does anyone have any tips, hints, or warnings? Your input would be appricated. - Eregion2

Have a friend come and help kill the lv 54 skeles, helps out quite a bit. Usually theres people training there, so if you cant find anyone its probably ok. Food, lots of it, lol. Other than the other equipment, I cant think of anything.

Thanks for the info. I know at least three people who've done the quest, so they might be able to help. I'm a cooking level of 39, so one more and I can make cakes(yum! lol). I've repaired the boat, and I've also got the whole map, and I've hired Ned to take me there. But first I want to get rune armor/weapons, and be able to use them(which won't be long). I also need to pick up the anti-dragon breath shield.

PS: Can you run from the monsters on the surface of Crandor and get down the ladder, or do you have to defeat the Lesser Demon first?

cakes? i still have like 500 from thieving thsoe stupid things.....the quest is really easy, use a str. pot defiently, makes a BIG difference....and umm...getting a friend for the skelis will help too...because i did the quest alone, and the dragon was a breeze, but i almost got raped by the skelis

What was your character's level when you fought the dragon? - Eregion2

You can usually get past the lesser demon without fighting him, if not then you can run. Just watch to see where he is. I wouldn't try fighting the dragon with cakes as your only food. If you need food pm me in the game. As for tips with the dragon, equip the Anti Dragonbreath Shield before you go through the door to the dragon, sometimes he attacks as soon as you go through the door. He can hit you with 60's with out it. Also heal often, it is better to waste a bit of food then die while trying to heal. If I'm on when you go to the island I will help with the skeletons and lesser demon if you want.

i think my combat lvl was around lvl 54-55ish, all my stats were in the 45 range, i think my str. was maybe a bit higher. I think if you're around 45range in stats and you have a friend to clear monsters on your way there, AND you have good food, with ONE str. potion....then you should defiently own the dragon.....str. potion helps a lot...thats about the best advice i have for you

Hide behind the pillars if your in dire need of food. Also, NEVER be in dire need of food. Always have atleast 1/2 of your hit points and nothing less. If you run, don't run to just 1 spot, keep running away. Finally, get lobbies or swordies if you are a bit worried. They heal lots more, faster. Plus, you'll be able to keep all the extras for getting out.

yea...I found that the getting out was the hard part. I decided to try to run out, but you can't get off crandor Isle cause the boat's wrecked, and further down the passage is a bunch of lessers.

Try and do it on a reasonably full server, people often train in the lesser passage. Or take tele runes :)

If youre a member, ill help kill the skeles and such. Id do it on Free world, but I sold my rune long (therefore I have no weapon on free) But yea, me and my friend are training there all the time, so its no biggie. Also, if youre a member, get a super set... when you add 10 onto your stats, the dragon starts hurting. lol

dont teleport out out the room when the dragon dies, go down the passage, the direction you have not been in, this will take you to karamjara (SP?) island, then you can use this tunnel to get back into the passage without fixing the boat every time.

When i did the quest i teleported out (lol) so i had once again repair the boat and go thru skeles and lessers to open the doors so i could go in again :D ^^

if some of u where smart, and wanted to be rs1 pure plate 1 mage get a map peice on rs2 then transfer it to rs1 through bank page in acount management, then go talk to goblin and bam ur another pure plate... mostly lvl 70s have done it and ive head or a 10 defenser lvl 50 sumthin with dragon battle axe not sure tho posible i bet i havent taken the time to do that only done the pure plate glitch thingy lol

Im sure people have done that already....i know i would have! i actually thought about using that item switching thing to my advantage...but i dont really have a good pure, so it doesnt matter for me....but i think that Jagex will realize this glitch, and sooner or later, theyre gonna ban quest items and simliar items soon.
