what is the difference between a normal one and a battlestaff

Battlestaffs have better combat stats, mystic staffs have better combat stats than either regular or battlestaffs.

I don't know much about mystic staffs, battlestaffs are around 10k each I think.

Standard staff (1500) -> Battle staff (10k) -> Mystic staff (~50k)

Lava prices are different, but that's member's only. As for combat-wise, normal staff isn't that strong. Battle staff is comparable to a rune long, and a mystic is closer to a rune battle. Not too sure on exacts, though.

heres what i get from it...

normal staff - worthless... like 15gp
normal mag staff - 350 gp
normal elemental staff - 1500gp
battlestaff - 9000gp
elemental battlestaff - 10000gp
mystic elemental staff - 50000gp

ok guys what does a mystic battle staff(mystic staff, mystic elemental, whatever it is called) do, like all the elements or what

The *ONLY* difference between regular, battle, and mystic staffs are the combat stats. All fill the same runes as the others (water staff, water battle, and mystic water... all take the water rune). It's mainly there as a last resort when you run out of runes. Not as good as a drag long sword, but it's a good melee and mage weap, put together.

When I was in CW once, I told someone I only had a regular lava staff... then they freaked out when I hit an 18 on a lvl 90... *sigh* always great to confuse the confused...

Lava staffs replace fire and earth runes.

Can someone tell me where to get battlestaffs? And do they replace a rune like the 1500gp ones you buy in varrock?

Battle staffs do excatly as normal ones do, just with higher combat stats (refere to Shay's post). They cost about 8k for the normal staff, but you'll have to buy from players ones with the heads on them if you don't craft it yourself.
