talismans

what are there purpose? I used mine and it directed me to a rock then when i used my talisman on the rock it teleported me to this place.

Lol... You need to complete 'Rune Mysteries' quest. Then, you'll be able to mine 'Rune Essence' From there, you take the eccense and as long as you have the talisman to the shrine (you must go to the shrine as well) you can make whatever kind of runes youd like. Soul runes arent makeable.
