RS Roman outfit?

My friend is hosting an RS costume party, and I'm wanting to dress up like a Roman Legionary. Anyone have any ideas for an outfit to look like it?

Basically where everyone wheres a different outfit to look like different things. Such as one person wore full ghostly robes and a scythe and called himself the grim reaper. Someone might wear greay robes and a cape, and a dramen staff and call themselves gandalf *cough* *mijna* *cough*

Chainmail was common enough in the roman legions, I wouldn't use a platebody it would look totally wrong. Roughly I'd go with a steel chainbody, platelegs, and longsword, with a dragon square shield. Legends cape would look good too. Or you could dress in full black (medium helm instead of a full, and a square shield instead of a kite) with a black cape and be a praetorian guardsman.

A dress-up contest would be fun, NG should do one sometime.

Noobs don't wear boots, they keep trying to put them on their heads instead of their feet.

I forgot spears, that would look better than a sword if you can get you hands on a steel one. Hobgoblins drop them evidently.

Outfit ideas so far: Red cape (duh), steel chainmail, anti-d shield (can't use or afford d square,) steel shortsword, leather boots, leather vams, studded chaps with red normal clothing legs, and a black headband or bronze med. Sound right?

P.S. I'd also have a steel spear with me, and I'd switch between the two.

legionaries had leather skirts... the closest i can come with that would be a bronze skirt... so to keep the color theme you would need bronze chain with red short sleeves and a bronze med helm or none at all since you cant wear brooms on your head in rs. anti-dragon shield should work well for that and a normal red cape so it gets the orange rim at the bottom to match shield. for a weapon try to get steel javalin and a steel short sword. shoes should be sandals but we cant do that so dont worry about not having any boots on. dont do gloves since it would look weird with short sleeves. hope you can do this... i might try to too =]

Sounds good, that's what've thought of also, but when I've put it on testing, the skirt looked a little bit on the stupid side. Javelins though, that's a good idea, never thought of that though. But I've already tried pretty much everything you've suggested Mijna. Lol. And I already changed to red sleeves, and I'm using vams, not gloves.

P.S. Mijna, that would be cool, if we did it together it would be even cooler, we'd be like a small troop of hastati, lol. This makes me want to start a clan called The Roman Empire though, and it makes me want this to be the clan uniform for meetings, lol.
