i want to try and figure out the equation to barrows repair on the armor stand. i also happen to have some fully destroyed armor that is tradable. so i would like for people that i know (if i don't know you you are not getting the helm) to come over and try out my helmet on the stand and tell me how much it costs, the more data points i have the easier it is (i hope). and again.. if i don't know you I'm not trading, this is only for people i trust to come and help me. so pm me in game or post here if you want to help, ill probably be fishing or working on construction tomorrow and my house is in yanille.

its easy...take your smithing level....divide that by two...thats what percent your discount is

good call...thats why lvl 99 smithing gets 50% discount...

A linear graph would be simple, but it might not be. Worth double-checking anyways.

nope that doesn't work with the 2 data points i do have. lvl 61 you pay 61.9% the original cost (doesn't work) lvl 47 is 76.5% (does work). looking at this there is a curve to the graph, similar to a cubic (x=y^3). and if that was so 99 would get 49.5% discount paying 50.5% the original cost.
you were right rwelch... i made i bad keystroke on my calculator that messed up my result... it is linear, that would explain why i was having such troubles.

The (x=y^3) threw me off, I'm used to reading (y=x^3).

it just is the inverse of it, it is like you took the graph flipped it over the y axis and rotated it 90 degrees clockwise.
