That is VERY much against the rules, and I suggest you tell him that. Also, I'd advise you not to go on that site, it could have trojans, spyware, etc. Your friend is EDIT: most likely going to get banned because of that, sorry to tell you =\
Eh..... When I was a newb I was thinking of buying some then I asked myself, "I'm going to trade real world money for pixels....?"
Soonder or later Jagex will catch your friend, he probably traded with an autoer, thats where Jagex catches em.

the thing is, if he just sticks 2 this 1 time deal he might get away with it...i mean things get over looked all the time and there is a small portion that get away it, then again there is also a very large portion that get caught. so basically its a gamble. the more u do it the higher the chances...and 2 me thats 2 great a risk, and just not worth it.(whats the point in playing if u take the challenge out?)

Its not invading his privacy when he breaks the rules,
just like if you steal from somewhere, the police are not
invading your privacy there arresting you...
I think he lost all respect on this site from that.
i know lots of people who sell rs GP its kinda abummer cause i worked hard for mine..
wats the point in having that much money anyway, eventually ur gna want to get ur skills up. to get ur skills to 99 the chances of u not having a fair amount of money at the end are slim

I know exactly how they get all that gp. First, they start a website-buisness.
Next, they find a bunch of employes. They go on some runescape-cheating websites, and find hexcodes, autos, macros, etc. They get their employes to use them. Eventually, they will be able to obtain all the money they/you could possibly want.

I would report him yourself, if he's a good friend. Letting your friends get away with cheating generally leads to bad things, I know. Sure, he'll probably get pissy at you for telling, but he really put you in a spot when he made you aware of his cheating anyways.
Its scum like him that made me quit playing Runescape for months and montsh when '2 came out, I figured it wasn't worth the hassle to learn the new system when the game wasn't much fun anymores at any rate. :)
(Of course, I got over myself and have been just as crazy over the game as I ever was anyways.)

or they have like 91+ rc and then do natures..and then make money and sell on ebay...and yes they get away with it
jagex have no jurisdiction on ebay, so unless ur using ur rsn as ur ebay account name they cant do anything about u selling things on ebay :S

you can send in the site name to jagex to investigate and close.. and reporting him would be the right thing to do..

i dont think i could report him hes a good friend and yea it is just a game. but he did agree to all the rules when he sigend up but in Canada its law to obey customer privacy so jagex and that site could very well get sued. my Auntie works for the employment board of Canada ill ask her about it maybe she can fill in the gaps.

it doesnt matter, you electronically signed away those rights when you signed up for a character (remember where you simply clicked "I agree" without reading it). So they're allowed to look into the activities of those characters all they please...

yes they can look intot he characters. the way he got the money was you give your email address they email you. they then say date time and where to meet and wha world.they then trade you. Jagex can look into the characters based on their game.
BUT accessing the customers right to privacy on the other site is not allowed and could result in jail time. They are two differnt sites and Jagex cant do anytihng about the other one. The only thing they could do would be able to try and shut th eother site down but they would ahve no legal grounds to do so.

*sigh*
They are not tracking 'people' or invading anyone's privacy. They do track thier characters, as noone owns them but Jagex. That is perfectly legal. They can find out you got a large amount of money transferred from a known real life trading account, then ban accordingly. There are no 'privacy' issues involved.
Jagex owns the game and everything in it. Period.
As for shutting down the other site, if they mention Runescape or Jagex, then yes, they can have the site pulled, as those are trademarked...
