Farming Stratagy
(This is a Members Runescape skill)
Thanks go to michelelee for writing this guide
Best way is to not stand around it will take you forever and you prob will lose interest before you get anywhere..
here is basically what I would do at 25...
Woad - flower
Cadavaberry - bush
Krandorian - hops
Jute - hops
Sweetcorn - allotment
Tarromin - herb
Oak - tree
Payment for farmers:
3 Sacks of Cabbage to watch Krandorian Hops
3 Baskets of Tomatoes to watch Cadavaberry Bush
10 Jute Fibres to watch Sweetcorn
6 Barley Malt (use Barley with range) to watch Jute
1 Basket of Tomatoes to watch Oak
To start...
I ALWAYS use compost... super is better but some is better than none. It takes 15 items to fill the compost bin. Weeds make regular and pineapples make super, which you can pick from the jungle area if you go to Brimhaven located just east of the dungeon there. I water everything... and again if they need it before I move on to next area. I teleport mainly with the runes, and Ectophial and when you get higher with Amulet of Glory. I bank when I can, usually certain check points in my rounds... like Catherby, Falador, Ardougne, and Yanille. You can rearrange the route to fit your rounds as you move up in levels and so forth...
- Start out in Falador:
- Go south west to bush patch and plant your Cadavaberry bush seed, and pay gardner (3 baskets of tomatoes).
Head east to the garden patches and where I would plant Tomatoes (pick the cabbage out of the field for 4 bags worth to have gardner watch both veg patches), plant Woad in the flower patch and Tarromin in the herb one.
- Teleport to Seers:
- I would go to the hops patch and plant Barley it cost 3 buckets of compost (always pay with REGULAR)
- Then Ardougne:
- I would head south to plant my bush seed then head on south and plant some Jute in the Yanille hops patch, then go back to Ardougne to the north and plant Sweetcorn, Tarromin, and Woad... (you can even skip Seers and do this part then walk or head there now)
- On to Catherby:
- I would plant Sweetcorn (takes 10 Jute Fibers to be watched each patch), Woad or if you want a scarecrow but I would just go for the Woad, and then plant Tarromin.
- After banking and things I go to Ectofuntus (Canifis):
- I teleport here using the Ectophial, then fill it and go to the patches.. and plant Sweetcorn, Tarromin, and Woad..
- Now I would head to Varrock:
- Plant a Oak Tree, then head south of the Champion's Guild to plant a Cadavaberry bush seed and some Barley at the hops patch south east from there.
- Off to Falador:
- Plant a Oak Tree there in the park and head to Taverly to plant another...
- Hop over to Lumbridge:
- Plant another Oak Tree..
FYI: I pay all farmers to watch my crops... only time I don't is if I really need it and don't have the stuff and have the time to keep checking it often... or if I am fishing and in Cathebry I check them each time I bank my fish... or I also have a Nature Amulet and one patch does not need paid for when I have the ammy with me to tell me when I need to water it or if it is sick or done growing.
Then I would repeat checking on crops and replanting according to what I needed. Somtimes I would plant all hops as Barley to get some stocked for Jute for the Sweetcorn and then I could get ahead and then plant krandorian now and then. I would try to plant Tomatoes always in same spot so as to not have to plant cabbage but pick it instead. You may find Tomatoes on the ground when others drop them, pick them up to stock up for your tree costs, each oak cost 3 baskets of tomatoes which is 15 tomatoes each tree. You can go to respawn places as well and do it that way for any item that respawns you can use.
Farming can be costly if you are really working on it... especially if you want to stick with using the highest availble seed for exp.. especially when you get to tree seeds fruit and reg alike.
It is like most things once you learn it and get the hang of it it is easy.. it is just hard to explain exactly what to do when certain things work better for others.
Hope this helps some..
