Cold War Quest Guide

At the Ardougne Zoo, one of the zookeepers has become a bit preoccupied by penguins. In fact, he's downright paranoid about them. He needs your help to observe their habits on the iceberg in the Luna Sea.

What begins as a peaceful bird-watching expedition opens a new world of espionage and bad musicians.

10 oak planks
10 steel nails
hammer
spade
raw cod
swamp tar
5 feathers
* Ardougne runes
* Camelot runes or Lyre (to head to Relleka)
* Lumbridge runes
* Armor/weapon if you think you need it to beat a Lv 51 enemy.
* Food if you think your agility is low enough to have you fail a bit.

1. Head to Ardougne zoo to speak with Larry. He is next to the penguin enclosure.

2. Once you agree to help you will need to get some items: 10 oak planks, 10 steel nails, hammer and spade. When you get them you are to meet Larry east of Relleka near the entrance to Keldagrim.

3. Once you get to the Iceburg you talk to Larry again. And he tells you how to build the hide. Once you built it and covered it up you go back to speak to Larry. You then observe, when doing this remember the 3 emotes the penguin uses in order. If you miss it or can't figure it then just keep using the snowy hut until you think you got it, it is different for everybody. Mine was: shiver, cheer, clap.

4. Talk to Larry again and agree with him and then travel back using the travel option for Larry. Once back on the dock talk to him again. He will give you a book to tell you what you need. Clockwork mechanism (1 steel bar), 1 plank, and 1 Silk.

5. Once you have the Clockwork Penguin made you need to go back to the iceburg dock to talk to Larry. You will head back to Iceburg to test the suit.

6. Once you talk to Larry you are aware the hide has been destroyed. You then get teleported to the Zoo. Talk to Larry again. Once a penguin goes in the cage and talk to penguin (one has a talk to option) then you will need to show the 3 emotes you learned. Then you learn more info.

7. You get a mission report and are told to stop in lumbridge to see if the penguins there have something for me to take to the outpost as well.

8. Go to Lumbridge and head north to the sheep and talk to Larry then choose his tuxedo time option. You will find out they will not talk to you until you say the secret phrase. To get the phrase head back to the zoo and talk to the penguin there and he will tell you it in trade for a raw cod. You will then learn the phrase is "Don't trust the walrus". Go back to Lumbridge, change to penguin then talk to the penguins.

9. You will need to take off the penguin suit and talk to Fred Farmer, then change back into the penguin and talk to them and then you get their report and are told where the outpost is (iceburg entrance hidden by avalanche) and guard stops you asking for password and it is cabbage. Go back to talk to Larry.

10. Once on the Iceburg talk to Larry. Once a penguin go talk to the KGP agent and you learn you need ID. Talk to the other penguin named Noodle, he will give you id and report for swamp tar and 5 feathers. Go back to Iceburg and change to penguin then talk to Noodle. You will get the id and the report.

11. Head over to KGP and talk to him. He will ok you and then you go in and to the west room to talk to another KGP agent. Once done there you now have to head to the agility course go west of the room through door.

12. You follow the signs, go past the army area and then swim through the water jump on the stepping steps and keep moving along. Once done talk to the instructor and then go through the gate and go back towards the KGP you gave the reports to and head back out to talk to Larry.

13. Go back in and go north. Talk to the KGP agent here and you will be told you don't have the clearance to get in. Head south and go in the east room with the instruments and talk to ping/pong in here.

14. You now need to get bongos and a cowbell. Go back out and talk to Larry. You get cowbell from stealing one from a dairy cow, and to make bongos you use soft leather with a mahogany plank. Once you have them go back and talk to Ping/pong. They will play and causes the KGP at the doors to come and gives you the chance to get passed the doors by going and using the controls and go through the doors.

15. Once you go through go to the east room. You will see cutscene and lose your outfit and get thrown in with the ice lords (lv 51). Kill one if it attacks before you open the door since it seems you can't be under attack to open the door.

16. Walk around to the east wall to go through the chasm. Go talk to Larry. Quest Complete!
