Rumours abound throughout Varrock and Al-Kharid that an archaeologist has discovered some clues to a large hoard of treasure hidden somewhere deep in the desert south of Al-Kharid.

Go to the building to the east and speak to Elbis. He tells you he can help you find the diamonds but he needs 12 magic logs, 6 steel bars, 6 molten glass, 1 charcoal, 1 blood rune, 1 regular bone, 1 ash (Note: he needs 28 items total, you also need shantay pass to get into desert which is more than you can carry in one trip. If you want to do it in one trip, use bank notes.) Use the magic logs on Eblis then teleport out, get the rest of the items and head back to give them to him.
Step is Complete.
( Done)
Eblis will then make the mirrors. They are south east of the bandit camp. Click on each mirror to see the possible locations of the diamonds (4 are correct & 2 are false)
**I will list the diamonds by order of difficulty (easy to hard) I will also list how much suppies I needed (I am 112 combat so adjust what you may need)
Smoke Diamond
Items needed: face mask & tinderbox (I used prayer robes, super attack, super strength & prayer pots)
Head to Pollnivneach, just west of town is a dungeon looking like a smokey well.
At the 4 corners of the dungeon there are torches that must be lit. It is best if you find them all first before you light them since you have to have all four lit to get the key and they will go out after time. To light just use a tinderbox with the torch. When all 4 are lit you go to the big room in the center (room with Fire Giants) and open the chest to get the warm key. It opens the gate on the east side to the room with Fareed in it.
When you go into the room Fareed (lvl 167 Fire Demon) will appear. You can not wield a weapon while fighting him. (Note: some have said that you can wield a weapon if you are wearing Ice Gloves.) I also tried to mage him, air and fire blast did no damage to him, water spells did work and hit him with 17's and 13's according to michelelee. So turn on protect from melee and fight.
When you kill Fareed you get the Smoke Diamond, teleport or walk out.
Items needed: Lockpicks (can be stolen from bandits) & cure poison (I used prayer robes, super attack, super strength & prayer pots)
Teleport to Ardougne. Go west of the Fishing Guild and moss giants. Speak to Rasolo (he roams around the area). He will help you if you get his gilded cross back that was stolen by the bandits.
Head back to the Bandit Camp in the desert. The tent to the South has a secure chest. You need to have a lock pick. When you click to open it you automatically start picking the locks (theres 3 of them). If you fail, you break your lockpick and get poisoned. Keep trying till you get it open. If you run out of lockpicks, pickpoket the bandits you get gold, 1 dose anti poison or a lockpick. (I broke 2 lockpicks at 82 theiving and michelelee used about 20 before getting it and she is level 53 thieving.)
Head back to Rasolo. You give him the gilded cross and then he gives you a ring, the ring makes the entrance to the dungeon appear, it's in the fenced area to the east. (If you loose your ring talk to Rasolo to get another one.)
Once in the dungeon (*multi combat area) keep heading east through winding tunnels. There will be level 80 Skeletons attacking you. You will come to a large room, Damis (lvl 107) will appear once he is defeated he reappears as a lvl 174. Your prayer drops faster than normal. I used super pots and 4 - 4 dose prayer pots to defeat him. When he dies he drops the Shadow Diamond on the ground. Pick it up and teleport out.
**TIP: Be sure to keep right clicking and attacking Damis since it is multi combat I found that I kept ending up fighting the skeletons instead of him.
Items needed: Silver Bar, Spice, Garlic, Mortar and Pestle (I used armor, super attack, super strength & prayer pots)
Head to the bar in Canifis, when you enter the bar the Jagex cinematics start. Talk to Malek, He tells you to kill Dessus (lvl 139 vampire). He tells you what you need to do to kill it.
Take your silver bar to Draynor Village. Go into the sewer (entrance to the east of the bank). Head north, you will find Ruantun there. He will make you a silver pot.
Get garlic from the house in Draynor on the second floor in a cupboard if you don't already have some.
Take the pot to the church on Entrana, talk to the high priest, he will bless your pot.
Go back to Canifis, talk to Malek he will fill the pot (with your blood, 5 damage). Use the garlic with a mortar and pestle to get garlic powder. Put the garlic powder and spice in the pot of blood.
To get to Dessus, go to the Graveyard south of the Haunted Woods (marked on the World Map). To get there, go north west of Canifis (just past the Slayer Master) head south, you'll go by the entrance to the Werewolf Agility Course. Then the path turns to the east then loops to the south then west then south then north east (kinda confusing to describe).
Use your pot of blood on Dessus tomb. He appears and attacks you. Theres 2 ways to fight him, with protect from melee, he keeps summoning 2 bats that do a constant 5 damage each which drains your health quickly. Or use protect from range he stops summoning the bats and just fight him. I think I used 3 or 4 shark that way. When he is defeated you do not get a diamond.
**TIP: If you for some reason you need to stop fighting him and return to him you will need to refill and spice new fresh blood from Malek and pour it on the tomb to rise him again to fight all anew.
Items needed: Cake (regular or chocolate), Stat Restores, Prayer Pots, Super Pots, Dueling ring (Cause its cheap and doesn't require a magic lvl), Monk Robes, Spiked Boots (Give iron bar and climbing boots to the Smith in Burthorpe), maybe some Agility Pots
This is the Hardest part of the quest. The extreme cold constantly damages you and drains all your stats.
We also have an alternative Ice Diamond Guide, written for characters with combat levels in the mid 90's.
Your energy and special bar will be 0.
Teleport to Trollheim. Go to the passage to the North to the Icy Gate. Speak to the troll child. Give him the cake.
Go thru the gate. You will see a cave entrance that is block by ice crystals. When you kill a Ice troll one of the crystals will break off. You must kill 5 trolls to go thru. *The frist time I tried I didn't have Stat Restores with me and died on the next part, so if you are weak at this point teleport out to get health before continuing. You will not have to re-kill the Ice trolls the Cave remains open.
After going thru the cave there is a long section (multicombat) of lvl 132 wolves. After the wolves you come to the nasty man lvl 154, make sure your stats are up. He hits you with a spell that turns you into a block of ice and does 5 damage. When he is killed he drops a super stat restore (4) and 2 chocolate cakes.
Keep following the trail. You will eventually come to a Ice section, put on your spiked boots. Use the super stat restore as needed to keep you Agility level from dropping to low. I fell several times on the ice (didn't notice any damge from the falls) your stats will still be drained and you will still be getting damage from the cold.
When you get to the end of the icy path there will be 2 trolls frozen in blocks of ice. Keep hitting them till they break (10 hitpoints each), it realeases the childs parents. You are then teleported back out to the gate and the troll child gives you the Ice Diamond.
**TIP: Fire spells destroys the ice holding the 2 trolls captive fast.
When you are carrying one or more of the diamonds you may be attacked by a Stranger (level 95), he attacks with a poisoned dragon dagger. This is not a major part of the quest, some may not see him at all. Once he is defeated continue on with the quest.
Items needed: The 4 diamonds (Ice, Blood, Smoke and Shadow) cure poison, energy pots
Take the diamonds and go talk to Eblis (near the mirrors south east of Bandit Camp). He tells you to take the diamonds and place them on the Obelisks at each corner (near the bottom) to unlock the pyramid.
northwest is Blood
northeast is smoke
southeast is ice
southwest is shadow
Head up the stairs to the door and go thorugh it and then climb down the ladder to enter the pyramid.
There are lvl 104 mummies and scarrabs lvl 92 that poison you. Theres also pitfalls in the floor that will appear, you will land outside the pyramid but doesn't hurt you. Just run around to the front entrance and go back through.
Level 1
you can click your mouse in the area where the other ladder is to climb down to next level
Level 2
you head east, south, west, north then east to a ladder that you climb down to the next level
Level 3
you want to head to the northwest, south, east, south, east, head west to a ladder
Level 4
On the last level you will find a chamber in the middle which is where you will talk to Azzanadra. Picture is attached as to the route you take to get there.
After a bunch of talking he teaches you the ancient magiks and makes a portal for you to use to come and go. Be sure to use the portal for it is rumored if you just teleported out you can't get back in.
Quest Complete.
Reward:
3 Quest Points
20000 magic exp
Ability to use Ancient Magiks
Ability to buy and wield Ancient Staff
You can use either regular or ancient magiks but only one type at a time. To switch which type you are using you must pray at the alter in the pyramid, theres a new entrance you can use behind the pyramid.
If you go talk to Eblis again he will sell you the Ancient Staff for 80k. You can assign the new spells for quick attacks on it.
