The first son can be found in Catherby. He is the cook you can find in the building north of the stove everyone cooks there fish on. Talk to him and find out about how the crest was broke into 3 pieces and each brother has one. To get his piece you need to get him the following cooked fish: shrimp, salmon, tuna, bass, and swordfish. Once you give him those he will hand over his piece of the crest and tell you about his brother the gem trader in Al Kharid.

Head to Al Kharid and talk to the gem trader (he is east of the glider pilot), he will send you to talk to the man with the yellow cape north in the scorpion mines. Once you head north you will see a mining area, the guy is roaming around the gold mining rock. Talk to him, you will find out this is the other son. To get his piece of the crest he wants you to make him a ruby ring and ruby necklace for his lady. It has to be made from the finest gold. He sends you to talk to Boot in the Dwarven Mines who knows where you can get the finest gold. The Dwarven Mine is northeast of Falador. Once you get there go down the ladder and head south until you see 2 anvils then head all the way west. Once you find Boot talk to him. He will tell you where to find it.

You will need to go to East Ardougne. Go to the bank south of the market place. Grab your pickaxe, armor, weapon, and food for to get the gold you need to defeat 2 level 122 hellhounds unless there is already people in their training on them then you have it easy. Ok to get to the gold mine location, head east from the bank across the docks. Once across head a little north until you see a ladder. Climb down and you will see hobglobins, run across the room and follow the path until you come to some ogres. (See Hellhound Dungeon Guide) You will need to pull a series of levers to unlock the gate to get to the gold and hellhounds. Some people have found they needed to pull the levers in opposite direction then stated, to see what direction it is you can examine the lever.
North wall you need to pull it up
South room you need to pull that lever up
Go back to north wall and pull that lever down
Go in that room and pull that lever up
Go out the room and pull that lever up
Go to south room and pull it down
Step is Complete.

Now go to the gate and you should be able to enter the room. Once you defeat the hellhounds (if someone is not already in there fighting them) mine the gold rocks there. Once you have 2 gold ores mined then head out and go to a furnace (easiest if you go to Al Kharid) to smith them into 2 gold bars. Have on you your ring mould, necklace mould and 2 rubies. Make one of each from the finest gold. Head back north of Al Kharid to hand over the Ruby Necklace and Ruby Ring to the Avan. Once you do you should receive the 2nd piece of the crest and information on the last brother’s location.
Step is Complete.

Head to the bank and get out your Anti-poison, one for you when you battle the level 139 Demon since there is poisonous spiders in the room and one for the last son. Head to the Jolly Boar Inn in Varrock located in the northern east part of varrock on the second floor, when you see Johnathon talk to him and then use anti-poison on him for he is poisoned, he will tell you where his piece of the crest is and about the spiders as well as the demon you will have to fight. You will need to have your armor, weapon, food and anti-poison, prayer pot if you gonna use prayer and the runes to cast all 4 blast spells (take extra because if you don‘t cause any damage with each blast you won‘t kill him).
Step is Complete.

Head to Edgeville and go down in the dungeon south of the bank. Follow the tunnel north then head east until you see the gate to go in to wildy. Go through this gate, and you will see some level 10 thugs, then head west and north past the level 13 chaos druids to another gate and then head west past level 45 skeletons and level 172 black demons, then south to get to the demon surrounded by spiders. (See Edgville Dungeon Guide) The Earth Obelisk is also in the same room. Now time to fight. While you are fighting him you need to SUCCESSFULLY cast each of the blast spells to keep him from regenerating. Once you have killed him he will drop the last piece of the crest. Leave and head back to Varrock.
Step is Complete.

Put the pieces of the crest back together and hand it over to Dimintheis. He will be very grateful and reward you with some steel guantlets. You can enhance the guantlets from one of the sons of your choice.
You can get Cooking Guantlets if you go to see the first son in Catherby. You will burn lobsters, swordfish, and sharks less when wearing them.
You can either get Crafting Guantlets if you go see the 2nd son in the Scorpion Mines and gain more experience when crafting with gold.
Or finally you could choose to see the 3rd son in the Jolly Boar Inn and get Magic Guantlets so that when wearing them your Bolt spells will be more effective.
You have completed the quest!
Side Note: If you loose your gauntlets you can get another set from Dimintheis. They will have the same enchantment as the set you lost. You can change the enchantment on the gauntlets later if you want. Take the gauntlets to the son of your choice, it costs 25k to change.
Reward:
1 Quest Point
Steel Guantlets (enchantable)
