The citizens of Port Phasmatys have unwittingly consigned themselves to an immortal existence, trapped forever in this world as unwilling ghosts. Necrovarus, Lord of the Temple of Phasmatys, holds the key to the door into the next world. Can you convince him to open it and set them free?
You will also need ingredients for dyes. The colors needed vary from player to player, but you may need up to 3 of one color. You can gather the ingredients and get the dyes made (talk to Aggie in Draynor Village) before starting the quest, to save some time, if desired or you can wait to see what colors you will need. The ingredients for each dye are:
Red Dye: 3 Redberries and 5gp
Redberries can be found just north west of the mine south east of Varrock
Yellow Dye: 2 Onions and 5gp
Onions can be found in the garden near the north western corner of the field of sheep north of Lumbridge
Blue Dye: 2 Woad leaves and 5gp
Woad Leaves can be bought from Wyson the Gardener in the garden in the north western end of Falador for 15gp each
Head to Canifis. Stop at the bank if needed. You will need the Amulet of Ghostspeak, 5 buckets, 5 pots, and a weapon if desired for killing level 1 and 2 enemies.

Leave Canifis heading north east following the road north east. The road will end near some Graves and Memorials. Keep heading east. You will come to a farm area with Undead Cows (level 2) and Undead Chickens (level 1). Kill either of them until you get 10 bones.

Head east and go into the building. Equip the Amulet of Ghostspeak. Talk to a Ghost Disciple. Go through all of the options with him.

Climb down the Trapdoor (western side of the building). Follow the ledge around to the other side of the area, then go down the stairs. Keep doing this until you get to the bottom floor. There will be a green glowing Pool of Slime. Use all 5 of the buckets with it. Go back up to the main floor.

Go up the stairs (eastern side of the building). Use the bones with the Bone Grinder (NOTE: Be sure to right click on the bones so you don't bury them). Next click on the Bone Grinder to wind it. Then use a pot with the Bone Grinder to get Bonemeal. Do this 5 times to fill all of the pots. Go back to the main floor.

Next go to the bank in the south eastern part of the area. Also take a weapon, armour, and food if needed to fight a level 32 enemy. When you are ready, pass through the Energy Barrier to leave the area. Head north then west, back towards Canifis.

Just before you get to the Slayer Master you will see Nettles to the east of him. Equip your gloves, if not already wearing them, and pick one. (NOTE: Nettles will poison you if you touch them without gloves.) Use the Nettles with the bowl of water to make Nettle-Water. Light a fire, right click on the Nettle-Water and use it with the fire to make Nettle Tea. (NOTE: Nettle Tea does nothing for stats if you drink it.)

Head north east to where the Undead Cows and Undead Chickens are. Just north of them you will see a skeleton of a ship. Click on it to get on, then go up the ladder. Go to the room on the eastern end. On the southern side of the door there is a ladder on the wall, climb up it.

Go to the western end of the ship, you will see a gangplank, cross it. You will end up on a rock. Jump from rock to rock until you get to one with a chest on it. Go down the ladder to the main level.

Go south a bit and talk to Gravingas (he's carrying a sign and protesting), agree to help. He will give you a petition form and ask you to get 10 signatures. Wear the Bedsheet and talk to the Ghost Villagers. Some of them will ask for Ectotokens to sign, pay them. When you have 10 signatures, talk to Gravingas again. He will tell you to present the petition to Necrovarus.
