Prove you are worthy to enter the hero's guild. To prove your status as a hero you will need to obtain a number of items. There are many challenges standing between you and these items.

NOTE: You will need to be in either the Phoenix Gang or Black Arm Gang and a friend in the other one with the Shield of Arrav Quest done. You NEED the help of a friend in the other gang to complete this. You will need to finish the requested quests and have at least 55 Quest Points. To get what quest(s) you still need to do you can go see the person outside the Heros Guild (Achetties).
Starting out
First off go see Achettis to begin your application to join the Hero Guild. She will double check you did all required quests and have enough Quest Points. Next she tell you the list of items you need to get to become a worthy hero. Those items are: Firebird's Feather, Master Thieves Armband and the Cooked Lava Eel.

Firebird's Feather
To do this you will need Ice Gloves that you obtain form the Ice Queen to pick up the Firebird's Feather on Entrana. The Ice Queen is a high level and you will need food and a pickaxe as well as your armor. Prayer helps alot as well since there will be Ice Warriors in the same room. To get to the Ice Queen you will go to White Wolf Mountain, in between Catherby and Taverly. Once you gain entrance which is from the south end of the mountain walk north till you see a rock slide. Use your pickaxe on the rock slide and then move east till you come to 3 ladders. Keep in mind there will be Ice Warriors here. Climb down the south one and then walk west and then south till you come to another ladder going up. Once you climb up that ladder you will see Ice Giants then you will climb down the eastern ladder. You will be walking north along this tunnel and encounter Ice Spiders along the way (they will not appear on your map). It will start to veer east then south and so on... it will come to a dead end with a ladder going up. Once you climb up it you will then climb down the other ladder going down. You will continue to keep walking north till you come to a big room with Ice Warriors and the Ice Queen. You may want to turn off auto retaliate so you can concentrate on the queen. Fight her and once you have beaten her pick up the Ice Gloves she drops and you can either walk back out or teleport out to Falador or Draynor since next step is Port Sarim to go to Entrana.
Remember you need to take off your armor and things since you can't wear them to the island of Entrana... but be sure to have your Ice Gloves. Go to Port Sarim and ride the boat to Entrana. Go east and north to get to the Entrana Fire Bird. It normally is running around north of the chicken coop. Kill it and be wearing the Ice Gloves so you can pick of the Fire Feather.

Master Thieves Armband
Here is where the help of a friend in the other gang comes in to play. For example, if you are in the Phoenix Gang you need a friend in the Black Arm Gang to help you and vice versa.
Phoenix Gang Member:
You will need to be in Varrock and go talk to Straven at the basement door of the phoenix hideout, about the armband. Straven will tell you to steal Pete's Candlesticks and that there is 2 people who the Phoenix Gang knows in Brimhaven (Karamja). The names are Alfonse the Waiter, and Charlie the Cook in the Shrimp and Parrot Pub. You also will be given the secret word "GHERKIN" to show that you are one of them. After you are done talking you will need to get the "Miscellaneous Key" from your friend in the Black Arm Gang. Now you need to equip a bow and some arrows before going to the pub. Once ready go to the pub and talk to Charlie the Cook and Alfonse the Waiter, be sure to give your secret word. When you do talk to Charlie, he will tell you about a panel which is located at the west end of the kitchen. You will go through this and come across some guard dogs which you will get passed and go through the door located on the west side of the yard. When you get inside you will use your key you got from your friend on the north door. You will appear in a closet with a window. Equip the bow and shoot through the hole at Grip and kill him, he will drop the keys for your friend in the Black Arm Gang. Your friend will then get the candlesticks and give you one so you can take it back to Straven in Varrock who will then give you the Master Thieves Armband. Just remember you can not get a Pete's Candlestick from just anyone... you actually have to go through the quest and get it.

Black Arm Gang Member:
You will need to be in Varrock and speak to Katrine about the Master Thieves Armband. She will mention you need to steal Pete's Candlestick, who lives on Brimhaven (Karamja). You will be needing a I.D. Paper. You are told that the gangs password is "FOUR LEAF CLOVER". You head off to Brimhaven and to the gang office. You will talk to someone there and they will give you the I.D Paper to get in to the mansion. But before you go to the mansion you will need to get a Black Full Helmet, a Black Platebody and Black Platelegs. Remember you can get the helmet and legs at the Champions Guild and the platebody at the Varrock Armour Shop. You will wear these when you get to the mansion. When you enter you will have to show your I.D. Paper to Garv and then he'll let you in. When inside go talk to Grip and ask if there is anything for you to do. He then will give you the "Miscellaneous Key" which you HAVE to give to your friend from the Phoenix Gang that is helping you. Then search the cupboard which brings Grip in to range for the Phoenix Gang Member to kill him. Pick up the keys that drop when Grip dies. Go to the treasure room and get 2 candlesticks. You will give one of the candlesticks to your friend from the Phoenix Gang. The way out is the door you came in and your Phoenix Gang friend should meet you there. Now head back to Varrock to talk to Katrine and she will give you the Master Thieves Armband.

Cooked Lava Eel
Okay head to Port Sarim's Fishing Shop and talk to Gerrant about the lava eel. He'll tell you how and what you need to make a oily fishing rod and give you a bottle of Blamish Snail Slime. You'll need a Vial of water, Harralander, and the Blamish Snail Slime. When you have those items, you will use Harralander with Vial of water and then unfinished potion with the Blamish Snail Slime. You then use this on the regular Fishing Rod. Once done you will need a bait for each lava eel you want to catch to cook. Go south of Taverly to the members dungeon after you make sure you have on you: The Oily Fishing Rod, Bait, Anti-Dragon Shield, Cure Poison, good armor and weapon and lots of food. (see Taverley Dungeon Guide for a map of the area) Keep walking in deeper until you come to some lava with a bridge over it, go south west to a large room then south to a large fortress with long tables and stuff and Black Knights. You will go through the large doors to the south and then east in to the jail area and kill the Jailer. Pick up the key he drops and move to the cell with Velrak in it. Talk to him of places to explore. He will then give you the Dusty Key. You will now go north until you get to the Poison Scorpions and then go across the bridge and then northeast past Chaos Dwarves and Lesser Demons. Go past them and use the Dusty Key in the door to the west. When you enter the room you will find Blue Dragons and Baby Blue Dragons. Run across the room and down a tunnel to lava with some Baby Blue Dragons near it. The fishing spots are hard to see on the lava but here is where you will fish for some lava eels. Once you used your Oily Fishing Rod and caught some you will now go back the way you came or teleport out. You will then cooked the eels you caught on a range.
