Legends tell of a magical lost city hidden in the swamps. Many adventurers have tried to find this city, but it is proving difficult. Can you unlock the secrets of the city of Zanaris?

Follow the fence heading west from Lumbridge Castle. Once you get to the end of the fence go south. You will see a 'camp' area with fires in the middle.

Talk to the Warrior, ask "What are you camped out here for?", "Who's Zanaris?", "If it's hidden how are you planning to find it?", and say "Looks like you don't know either.". Talk to the Warrior again, also talk to the Archer, Monk, and the Wizard.

Look for a tree in the area with an option to cut it (the exact tree is different for each player). When you cut the this tree, Shamus will appear. (For me it was the tree north west of the Well near the end of the fence.) Talk to him, go through the options with him.

Head west to Draynor Village. Go to the bank and deposit your weapon and armour. Get a knife, food, runes to teleport, and some potions if you have them. (NOTE: if you do not take runes, when you leave the island you will end up in level 32 of the Wilderness.)
Go west to Port Sarim, go to the north eastern part of the dock. Talk to one of the Monks of Entrana, go to Entrana Island.

Once on Entrana go north east, cross the bridge, and then head west. You will see the ruins of an oval shaped building, go inside. Talk to the Cave Monk. Go down the ladder.

Go east through the cave. You will come to an area with Zombies (level 25). Kill the Zombies until you get a Bronze Axe.

In the next area you go through there will be Greater Demons (level 92), just try to make your way south past as fast as you can. Head south, past the Greater Demons. You will be in a room with the Dramen Tree in the center. Heal if needed and drink your pots if you have them.

Try to chop the Dramen Tree. You will be attacked by Tree Spirit (level 101).

Once you defeat the Tree Spirit, chop down the Dramen Tree, you will get a Dramen Branch (cut as many as you want). Use the knife with the Dramen Branch, you will get a Dramen Staff.

If you did not bring runes, you will have to go north into the room with the Greater Demons. On the east side of the room there is a Magic Door, go through it. You will end up at about level 32 of the Wilderness. Go south out of the Wilderness.

Head back towards Lumbridge. Go to where the fence ends west of Lumbridge (where you began the quest in step 1). Go south around the end of the fence and head south east.

You should come to a small building. Equip the Dramen Staff and go though the door. You will be rewarded.
Alternate Method
It is possible to fight the Tree Spirit with magic/ranged attacks. If you choose to use magic just bring the neccessary runes but NOT a staff. Staffs are not allowed on Entrana, so magic spells will have to be casted manually. I used fire spells and they worked very well on the spirit. To range, bring along 5 soft leather or 6 dragon leather, 1 needle, 2 thread, 2 steel studs (not needed with dragonhide), 1 knife, 1 bow string, a LOT of arrows (arrows are allowed on Entrana) and the best log you can fletch into a bow. I still advise that you bring runes just in case. Once on Entrana fletch a bow from the logs and string the bow. Next make vambraces, boots, a coif, chaps, and a leather body or dragonhide chaps, vambraces, and body. Use the chaps and the body with the steel studs to make them studded. Put all your armor on and equip your bow then head into the cave. Kill the zombies until you get an axe then run past the Greater Demons and go south. Try to cut down the Dramen Tree and you will be attacked by the tree spirit. Now you need to run as fast as you can to the western side of the room. If you are fast enough you can get behind of the mushrooms that are next to the wall and range/mage the Tree Spirit.
