Monkey Madness Quest Guide

The King of the northern Gnomes, Narnode Shareem, is once again in need of your help. He recently decided to send an envoy of his Royal Guard, the 10th squad, to oversee the decommission of the Gnome owned ship-building facilities on the eastern coast of Karamja.

It has been quite some time since the 10th squad were dispatched and they have been deemed missing in action. It will be up to you, should you decide to help, to find out what fate befell the 10th squad and if possible, track them down.

If only it were so simple. Sinister forces have begun to spread through the Gnome hierarchy and threaten to unleash an unknown terror upon the world. Far across the land, the fires of vengeance are being stoked once again. Can you unravel the mystery behind the deception? Can you seperate the truth from the lies? Can you decide for yourself what is real and what is not?

Warning: This is a challenging and arduous quest. Only the most hardened of adventurers need apply.

  1. Talk to the King in the Grand Tree. He will ask you to check on the missing 10th squad and give you the royal seal as proof you are working for him.

  2. Take the glider to Karamja, walk north to the shipping yard. Talk to G.L.O. Caranock.
    ( Done)

  3. Take the glider back to the Grand Tree and talk to the king again. He tells you to talk to Daero.
    ( Done)

  4. Go up one level in the tree and east to Blurberry's Bar. Talk to Daero. He tells you the king is sending you on a mission to find the 10th squad. Go thru all the talking options.
    ( Done)

  5. Daero blind folds you to take you to the secret gnome hanger and introduces you to Waydar (gnome pilot).
    ( Done)

  6. Waydar says they cant leave till they complete the initialization to open the doors. Solve the puzzle box (picture of a glider) or track down Glough and bribe him 200k!!! to do it for you.

  7. After the initialization is complete talk to Waydar and he flys you to Crash Island (somewhere below Karamja).
    ( Done)

  8. Talk to Lumdo he refuses to take you to Garkor. Talk to Waydor again and now Lumdo will take you.
    ( Done)

  9. Lumdo takes you to the Ape Atoll on a boat. (Every creature on Ape Atoll is agressive and can poison you.)

  10. To find Zooknock (gnome mage) Go east to the dungeon. The dungeon is very, very long. It has lvl 98 Monkey Zombies and lvl 142 Skeletons, its also a multi-combat area so you will be attacked by more than one at a time. There is also falling rocks that will damage you and traps in the floor. I recommend using protect from melee and running the whole way. It took me 3 super energy pots and 2 prayer pots and several sharks to run to the end.

  11. When you finally get to the end and talk to Zooknock, he tells you to go check on the others in the monkey city. Teleport out (Easiest to use dragon ammy to go to Al Kahrid so you can take the glider to Grand Tree).

  12. After teleporting out go back to the Grand Tree and talk to Daero to take the glider to Crash Island and the boat to the Ape Atoll.
    ( Done)

  13. Once on the Ape Atoll, go north of where the dungeon is. You will be shot by arrows from the archers on top the hill and taken prisoner and poisoned.

  14. When you wake up in jail talk to the gnomes in the cell next to you. (They can be kinda funny.)
    ( Done)

  15. Pick lock the cell door when the guard is away from the door and hide in the little room to the west with 2 posts in it (you will probably be attacked by a lvl 2 Spider that can poison you). When the guard goes into the square room in front of you with the other guard, run out of the building. If you get caught by the guards you will get knocked out (about 12 damage) and thrown in jail again. As you leave the jail building have protection from range turned on, there are monkey archers all over the city.

  16. The Assasin - Karam is hiding in the tall bushes just east of the jail, he is hard to see so look for the yellow dot on the map.

  17. The other gnome - Garkor is hiding on the east side of the leaders building (located to the south east). He tells you he has been spying on Awowogei (Monkey leader) and that they need to get somebody on the inside (you) and that you will need to look like a monkey to do it. He tells you to go talk to Zooknock.

  18. Teleport back to civilization (I dont think there is any other way out of monkey city). Go back to the Grand Tree and talk to Daero to go to the glider and Waydar to take you to Crash Island and Lumo to take you back to Ape Atoll.

  19. Go back thru the super long dungeon to talk to Zooknock again. He tells you to transform into a monkey you will need a monkey amulet and monkey talisman.

  20. First you need the monkey talisman. For it you will need to find magical monkey dentures and a monkey amulet mold. (Also need a bar of gold and ball of wool).

  21. Teleport back to civilization. Go back to the Grand Tree and talk to Daero to go to the glider and Waydar to take you to Crash Island and Lumo to take you back to Ape Atoll.

  22. Go back to the monkey city. After leaving the jail, go south there is a building with a wide front opening and a trap door in the middle. There is a guard in the room that keeps falling asleep. He must be asleep when you go in or he clubs and you will be thrown in jail. Also, do not go near the center of the room or you will be arrested. I went along the west side of the room, there is a crate (I think) stacked 2 high in the middle/west side of the room. Search it and you will find the dentures. In the southwest corner of the room search the crates, one will have a hole in the bottom. Climb through... You will fall and take damage (I think I lost about 12hp). In the northwest corner of the room search the crates to find the monkey amulet mold.

  23. Teleport back to civilization. (Make sure you have to gold bar, the dentures, and the monkey amulet mold with you.) Go back to the Grand Tree and talk to Daero to go to the glider and Waydar to take you to Crash Island and Lumo to take you back to Ape Atoll.

  24. Go back thru the super long dungeon to talk to Zooknock again. Give him the gold bar and the magic monkey dentures. He will give you an enchanted gold bar. You have to use the gold bar in a sacred place (the temple in the monkey city).

  25. Teleport back to civilization. Go back to the Grand Tree and talk to Daero to go to the glider and Waydar to take you to Crash Island and Lumo to take you back to Ape Atoll.

  26. Go back to the monkey city. After leaving the jail go east to the temple. The gold bar needs to be used with the flame wall that is in the basement. Turn on protect from melee when you enter the temple. The trapdoor to the basement is to the east in the temple. It is very difficult to get around the guards to get to the trap door, so you may have to go to the south wall to go up to the second floor, then go to the east side and down the ladder and it will put you right at the trap door. Once you make it downstairs, use the enchanted gold bar with the flame wall (make sure the mold is in you inventory) to make the monkey ammy. Use the ball of wool with it so you can wear it. Go upstairs (you may find it easier to go up the ladder again to the second floor and go towards the south wall to the ladder back down to the main floor.

  27. Head out of the temple. Just south of the jail is a Food Store. Steal some bananas (I took 6). Go north west of the jail. The building west of the jail has an entrance to the north that leads to a courtyard to the west. The courtyard has a monkey child in it. DO NOT get caught my the monkey's aunt, you will go to jail. The aunt will go from the courtyard to the front of the courtyard then in front of the house then into the house. Only talk to the child when she is out of site (going from in front of the courtyard until she is about to come out of the house). Talk to the child several times, tell him you are his uncle, eventually he tells you he's supposed to be picking banana's for his aunt and shes gonna give him a toy, eventually you give him the bananas. Go talk to him again and he got the toy and will let you borrow it... Its the monkey talisman.

  28. Teleport back to civilization. Take extra energy pots this time and runes to teleport to Ardougne. Go back to the Grand Tree.

  29. Take the glider to Karamja and kill a monkey and take the bones.
    ( Done)

  30. Go back to the Grand Tree and talk to Daero to go to the glider and Waydar to take you to Crash Island and Lumo to take you back to Ape Atoll.
    ( Done)

  31. Go back thru the super long dungeon to talk to Zooknock again. Give him the Monkey talisman and the monkey bones. He gives you the magical monkey talisman. Equip it to turn into a monkey. (At this point I ran back out of the dungeon, you will not be attacked, or you can teleport out and make your way back to the Ape Atoll). You can only be a monkey on the Ape Atoll or in the Ardougne Zoo.

  32. Transform into a monkey. Head to the monkey city. You will not be attacked by anything. Walk up to the city gate and they will let you in. Head east and talk to Garkor (next to the monkey leader). He tells you a plan to get you in with the monkey leader. Talk to one of the guards and they will tell you that only Kruk can let you talk to Awowogei.

  33. To find Kruk head west past the entrance to the city. Go up the hill that has the archers on it go up a ladder on top the hill near the gate, cross the bridge and down the ladder. Kruk is in that area.

  34. Kruck takes you back to Awowogei. He tells you to go to Ardougne Zoo and bring back one of the monkeys from the cage there. Ask the palace guard to let you out and talk to Garkor again.

  35. Teleport to Ardougne. Go to the zoo and transform back into a monkey. Talk to the monkey keeper and he'll put you in the monkey cage. Talk to a monkey and he will eventually get into your backpack (inventory). Take off the talisman and you become a human again, talk to the monkey keeper and he lets you out.

  36. DO NOT TELEPORT with the monkey. You will lose it if you do. Walk or run to the Grand Tree and talk to Daero to go to the glider and Waydar to take you to Crash Island and Lumo to take you back to Ape Atoll.

  37. Change into a monkey, go into the city and talk to Awowogei. Then talk to Garkor again. He gives you a sigil that makes you a part of the 10th squad. DO NOT equip it until you are ready to fight the demon.
    ( Done)

  38. Head back to a bank and get prepared to fight the demon. When you are equiped for the battle put on the sigil, you will be teleported with the rest of the 10th squad to fight the demon. The demon will attack using mage and melee. I used protect from mage and fought it by melee. I got hit for several 20's and a 30, so have lots of shark to eat. The demon will heal some if it gets low on health, so it takes a good last hit to kill it. It really wasn't that difficult of a fight.

  39. Talk to Garkor, then Zooknock will teleport you back out to the Ape Atoll.

  40. Head back to talk to the king. Quest complete, 3 quest points. Also since you are now part of the 10th squad go talk to Daero to get your training. Choose either Attack & Defense or Strength and Stamina(hits). You will receive exp. in all 4 fighting stats, but you get more in the ones you choose.

Once you complete the quest visit Daga's Scimitar Stall on the Ape Atoll to buy the Dragon Scimitar.
