Rumours have been coming back from Miscellania that all is not well, it is said that the king has been turned into a monster! An exceptional hero is required to investigate. Experience in ruling kingdoms, wooing royality and negotiating peace would be an advantage. Apply within.

Go to Rellekka. Talk to the Sailor on the second dock from the west (it is wider then the other docks), go with him on the ship. You will end up in Miscellania. (NOTE: It is best not to steal from any of the stalls or kill any of the residents of Miscellania, if you do you may regret it later on when you are trying to gain support.)

Head west to the castle, then go up to the second floor. Go into the large center room. A guard will stop you on your way. After you talk to him, he will let you through. Go into the room.

Talk to King Vargas. Say "If I may be so bold..." He will tell you that you must demonstrate your worth by negotiating peace with Etceteria and that you must marry his son Prince Brand or his daughter Princess Astrid depending on whether your character is male or female.

Leave the castle and head east towards the other side of the island, following the northern path. Cross the bridge and go into the castle. Go up to the second floor.

Talk to Queen Sigrid. She wants King Vargas to recongnise Etceteria as a sovereign nation.

Go back and talk to King Vargas. The King will tell you to get Queen Sigrid to change the Etceterian national anthem.

Go back to King Vargas's castle. Go up to the second floor and talk to Prince Brand (in the southern room). He will compose the anthem then sing it for you, it is quite bad. He will give you a copy of the Awful anthem.

Head east and talk to Queen Sigrid. She will not like the anthem and will tell you to find a better one.

Go back to King Vargas's castle. Go up to the second floor and talk to Advisor Ghrim (in the room with the king). He will fix the anthem and give you a copy of the Good anthem.

Go talk to Queen Sigrid. She will like this anthem and give you a Treaty for the king to sign.

Go back and talk to King Vargas. He will take the Treaty and ask you for to find a pen that he can use. Leave the castle.

Head north east to the building with the anvil. Talk to Derrik. Tell him that you have a slightly strange request. He will make you a Giant nib.

Go and talk to King Vargas again. He will sign the treaty and ask if his son or daughter has agreed to marry you yet. He will also tell you to try to gain the support of the people.

Getting Married
Female Character
Talk to Prince Brand. He will tell you that if you can impress him enough he will consider marrying you.
Talk to Advisor Ghrim, ask him about the prince. He will suggest a gift of flowers and praise for his musical performances.
If you do not have flowers, leave the castle and talk to the Flower Girl near the market stalls. She will sell you some for 15gp.
(NOTE: This order may vary from player to player...) If you try to go to fast, he will let you know. Just keep trying different combinations of praise, dancing and clapping for him.
Talk to Prince Brand.
Use the flowers with him, tell him that they are for him.
Talk to him, he will recite a poem for you, say "be still my heart".
Talk to him again, tell him that he will be the greatest bard.
Talk to him, tell him that they don't understand his poetry like you do.
Use the Dance Emote animation.
Use the Clap Emote Animation.
Talk to him again, he will ask for you name and tell you to call him Prince.
Use the Cake with him. Talk to him, say "How poetic.".
Talk to him, tell him that his saga was inspiring.
Talk to him, tell him that his pursuit is nobler.
Talk to him, he will tell you that he is growing quite fond of you.
Talk to him, he will sing you a song, tell him that is was lovely.
Use the Blow Kiss Emote animation, he will tell you that you flatter him.
Talk to him, he will ask if you have ever composed poetry, tell him that you wouldn't presume to have the skill.
Talk to him, tell him that you are glad to hear it.
Talk to him again.
Use the ring with him. He will agree to marry you.
Go talk to King Vargas. He will tell you to try to gain the support of the population.

Gaining Support
Talk to Advisor Ghrim, ask about gaining the support of the population. He will give advice and tell you that 25% of the population supports you. (NOTE: This may be lower if you have stolen from the stalls or killed anyone.) He will also tell you that you need 75% of the populations support. Leave the castle.

To gain the support of the people you have to help them with their tasks. There are a few different ways this can be done:
Cutting logs for Lumberjack Leif
Head to the forest area. Talk to Lumberjack Leif. Next start cutting the Maple trees. The logs you cut will automatically go to Lumberjack Leif.
Fishing for Fisherman Frodi
Head to the dock where you first arrived on the island. Talk to Fisherman Frodi. Next start fishing, you can use a lobster pot to catch lobster or a harpoon to catch tuna and swordfish. The fish that you catch will automatically go to Fisherman Frodi.
Mining for Miner Magnus
Head to the coal mine (on the northern part of the island, near the anvil). Talk to Miner Magnus. Next start mining. The coal you mine will automatically go to Miner Magnus.
Weeding the herb garden
Head to the herb garden, just outside the castle walls. Talk to Gardener Gunnhild. (NOTE: for this one you will need a rake, you can buy one for 15gp.) Next, click on the herbs to weed them.

You can check on the amount of support you have gained by talking to Advisor Ghrim, ask him how to gain the support of the population again. (Each time the NPC you are helping says thanks you gain 1 favour.)
