A travelling trader has been stranded south of Varrock after his cart was attacked by local outlaws. He needs the help of a hero to recover his lost documents, but that's not all...
The Varrock Palace Secret Guard (VPSG) are on the trail of treacherous dealings with the Monks of Zamorak. Will you be able to help the VPSG and uncover what lies below?
Go to the place where the Lumbridge road meets the road to Varrock. Speak to Rat Burgiss near a Broken Cart. He will mention he was robbed and you ask if you should help. He tells you they stole 5 pages and have a camp west of Varrock. You'rr given a folder to put the pages in. Go kill 5 outlaws to get the pages back. They are lv 32, located east of Edgeville. Just southeast of the bridge. Once you get 5 pages use them with folder then return to Rat.

You give him the pages and then he will need you to talk to Surok Magis in the library in Varrock Palace. So head to the Varrock library with the letter. Speak to Surok, you will need to get him some items, bowl (which can be bought from the General Store) and a metal wand infused with chaos magic. Your to take the metal wand and 15 chaos runes to the chaos alter. Use the wand on the alter. Be sure to have a tiara or talisman to complete it.

Be sure to have the bowl, 15 chaos rune and the tiara/talisman and head east out of Varrock then north following road for the shortcut to the chaos alter (as long as you don't climb up to the Wilderness you are fine). Talk to woman on bench and she gives you bronze pickaxe, excavate the statue. Go down in and talk to each of the people down here as you go then use portal. Now you are at the chaos alter area, run around till you get to the ladder to climb down. The route is north the east to go south from portal work west then north once you see the ladder going down in mini map you can click it and you'll run to it. Go down.

Use wand with the alter. Now head back to the Varrock library to talk to Surok. He will then have you deliver note to Rat. Go there now. You will learn the story and will need to go see Zaff the staff shop guy in Varrock.

Go talk to Surok and pick Bring it on and he will summon the king, fight him until almost dead and then summon Zakk by operating the ring. You will view a cutscene. Head back to Rat to finish up.
